Nissan GT-R

Of course you remember the car from Too Fast Too Furious, It was a 2003 model Nissan GT-R. The 2009 model is a Beast and with 480 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque it is 8.1 pounds per horsepower way more powerful than the Porsche 911 Turbo and the Corvette Z06 in its class.

The Japanese can pack some real power when they mean it. They just needed an entry point so they chose efficiency because it was a market need that wasn’t addressed yet, and with the GT-R they said they are not just about fuel economy.

Porsche PanameraWe loved the Cayenne but when Porsche makes cars, they just do it like nobody else and we love even the non sports porches more because they are Porsche. And they listen too, this sedan is not just a beauty it is a delight. The porsche Panamera will now beat the shit out of those Bimmers and Mercs, and at 130K, it will surely feed the self actualization needs of Maslow.

The Panamera will come with three engine Variants:
The the base Panamera will house a 3.6 L V6 (similar to the Cayenne) an will have a GOOD 300 hp
The Panamera S and Panamera 4S[3] versions with a 4.8 L V8 with a roaring 405 hp
And the meanest of all will be the Panamera Turbo with its 500 hp of raw power from the turbocharged 4.8 L V8

Guaranteed Car Finance?

I mean your payments will be guaranteed if you have happened to lose your job. Autonation will cover for carpayments for job loss.

The largest U.S. vehicle dealership announced today on FOX Business Network it plans to cover six months of car payments for recently laid-off consumers.

They will be rolling this out in Florida and then later launch in the whole country. With the credit crunch still going bad and many dealerships out of business, we are not sure if this is a great move by Autonation. This practice is catching up fast and earlier Hyundai also announced that if someone was laid off within 1 year of purchasing the car, they could return the car.

In India it was announced by some state owned banks that they will try to work something out for homeloan borrowers if they got laid off.

There are some companies that have also guaranteed car finance even for people with bad credit which is good since many people’s credit score have plunged and they could use such bad credit car finance even if you have foreclosed.

The Maserati Gran Turismo S

The Italians have given us not just the Pizza but fast cars as well. And from the country that gave us the Ferrari, we also have another of our favorite sports car makers. The Maserati, and Maserati will be launching soon the Gran Turismo S Automatic.

The Maserati Gran Turismo S uses the Maserati transaxle system for the engine and the gearbox along with the single rate dampers which they claim to give a 10 % more damping force and the new car also comes with revised cpmpression and rebound ratio and more rigid rear torsion bar that will give a the Gran Turismo S a mean strength when you zoom pass freeways.

The barking system uses brembo for safety and for immediate stopping cast iron and aluminium are used together.

The Earth times reports

Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars and Cayenne SUVs in the United States, today announced February new-car sales of 1,715 in the United States, representing a 13% decrease from February 2007 sales of 1,967.

This is bad news after the last week’s bleak economic numbers from the US. 2008 is a great year for sports cars with a slew of new launches, but sales will be bad, as this report shows, and many other reports..

Not just the cars industry but other auto sector such as motorcycle industry and the components industry including tires manufactures and other industries in the ecosystem will take some time to recover from this recession.

Forget stocks, forget even domaining (unless you have a domain like sex.com), the real money is in classic cars. Look at this lists of some classic cars and the price they can fetch.

1967-69 ALFA ROMEO TIPO 33/2 STADALE ($1 MILLION AND UP): If this gorgeous, low-slung fiberglass body car — Alfa’s second mid-engine auto — seems to cost a lot, consider that you could have bought one of the 18 built (to certify it for racing) for $650,000-$680,000 in 2005.

1970 AMC REBEL MACHINE ($14,500): Nobody really took muscle cars from defunct American Motors Corp. seriously until fairly recently. But the mid-size Rebel coupe finally is getting its day in the sun. It had a big 390-cubic-inch V-8 with 340 horsepower hooked to a four-speed manual transmission and such items as a hood scoop, sport suspension and patriotic red, white and blue plaint scheme. Quite the dude, this one.

1960-63 ASTON MARTIN DB4GT ZAGATO (MILLIONS AND MILLIONS): The classic car price guides simply say “value not estimable,” which means you better be Ralph Lauren or Donald Trump before you even consider one of the 19 built. In 2005, this Aston was valued at $2 million to $3 million, and is worth far more now. It was a special high-performance British Aston with a voluptuous body by Italy’s famous Zagato exotic car design outfit. Some feel it’s the most desirable Aston road/racing model ever built. It had a 314-horsepower engine, which whisked it to 153 mph. Even James Bond had to settle for a regular 1963-65 Aston Martin DB5.

1935 AUBURN 851 “BOATTAIL” SPEEDSTER ($161,000): This is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful cars of all time — and only sold for $2,245 in 1935. It was styled by the legendary Gordon Buehrig, engineered by August Duesenberg (of Duesenberg fame) and directed by talented Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg president Harold Ames. It resembled a classic, fast 1930s watercraft with its tapered tail and pontoon fenders. Its supercharged inline eight-cylinder engine generated 150 horsepower, when the sensational “hot” new Ford V-8 produced 90 horsepower.

1952-55 BENTLEY R-TYPE CONTINENTAL ($180,000): James Bond drove a Bentley (at least in the Bond adventure books) before he got an Aston Martin in the movies. This hand-built Bentley had a sleek four-seat coupe body with exquisite lines and a sloping rear end. It could do 90 mph all day with its strong six-cylinder engine. Only 208 were built.

1966-69 BIZZARRINI ($165,000): Italian Giotto Bizzarrini, who did great work for Ferrari and Lamborghini, built this sleek, child-high, 145-mph sports car, which looks like nothing else. Bizzarrini gave it a powerful Chevrolet Corvette V-8 for reliability, although he had designed the Lamborghini V-12 engine used for more than 40 years. About 100 Bizzarrinis were built.

If you are a little short on the cash, you can always go for a replica of the classic. But even the Replica of a 1967 Alfa Romeo could set you down by a few hundred thousand.

The cayenne GTS

With rising oil prices raising concerns in the motor world, and with sales of major Auto Companies seeing a slump, Porsche, our favorite Sports car manufacturer who have goven us the 911 sports car has reported a rise in sales. Sales for the period through May 31 increased to 6.02 billion euros ($9.33 billion) from 5.98 billion euros a year earlier which is a 0.7 percent rise, when every Au company is expected to report a slump in sales.

What is more surprising is that the sales boost was due to increased sales of an SUV. They have made more sales of the Cayenne SUV. SUV are considered oil guzzlers but every body still loves an SUV, and when you get a Fuel Efficient SUV, it takes for a winning combination, and it was the fuel efficient Cayenne Models that have boosted the earnings.

Our favorite, the cayenne GTS in the picture above comes for Approx $ 69,300.00, and quite powerful with 405 hp @ 6,500 rpm, 0-60 mph: 5.7 sec. and a Top Track Speed: 157 mph.
